If Allah Wills, what Allah Wills Peace be upon all the Holy Prophets The Pocket Oxford Dictionary says that Allah is the Muhummudun name of God. The Popular Oriental Practical Dictionary says that Allah is the Muslim name for God. This is not the whole truth. The Holy Quran in surah 43 Az-Zukhruf verse 87 says as follows : "And if you (Muhummud ) ask them who created them, they will surely say : Allah. How then are they turned away." It is very clear from the above verse that more than 1400 years ago even non-muslims use to say Allah. The correct meaning of Allah is given in Kitabistan's Composite Dictionary
as follows:
The Oxford Dictionary may correct itself by giving the same meaning which is in Kitabistan's Composite Dictionary i.e., Allah : Arabic word for God. |
