Divine Revelation and Poetry  ________ DIFFERENCE

In Surah Yasin (36) verse 69 Allah says:-
“And We have not taught him (Muhammad SAW) poetry nor is it meet for him”.
See Surah Al-Haqqah (69) verses 41 & 43:-
“It is not the word of a poet.
This is the Revelation sent down from the Lord of the worlds”

Divine  Revelation & Poetry Compared
One of my favorite poets Omer Khayyam wrote:
“Then unto the rolling heaven itself I cried:
What lamp had destiny to guide
Its little children stumbling in the dark?
And  ‘a blind  understanding’ Heaven replied.”

In none of the 6236 verses of the holy Quran does a man cry to the rolling heaven but cries directly to God. Holy Quran maintains 100% accuracy in words. And the Holy Quran does not encourage blind understanding. The Holy Quran wants knowledge to be the basis of faith. Read the following proof:

Surah Family of Imran (3) in Verse 18 says:
“Allah bears witness and also the angels and those endued with knowledge, maintaining justice: there is no god but He, the Mighty,  the Wise”

So in the Holy Quran Allah emphasizes that only people with knowledge bear witness and not people with blind understanding.

The great Tennyson wrote:

Strong Son of God, immortal Love.
Whom  we that have not seen  thy face
By faith and by faith alone embrace
Believing where we can not prove

How can the Creator who has infinite knowledge and wisdom encourage blind understanding and belief without proof? The Holy Quran laid great emphasis on belief with proof.

Similarly the great poet Allama Iqbal wrote:
“Batil say dabney walay
Ay asmaan nahee hum.
Soe bar kar chuka hay
Too imtehan hamara”

Here again the poet addresses the sky and says that the sky has tested us a hundred times. OFCOURSE THE POET DOES NOT MEAN THE SKY ITSELF but refers to God (Omar Khayyam also meant rolling heaven in the same manner). But such examples are  nowhere found in the Holy QURAN ________ In the Holy Quran the sky or rolling heaven has never been used in place of God, because the Holy Quran is not poetry.

But the Majesty and Glory of God has been mentioned DIRECTLY in this way:-
The Holy Quran Surah “The Troops” 39 verse 67 says: “they estimated not Allah with estimation due to him whereas the whole earth shall he His handful on the Day of Judgment and the heavens shall be rolled in His right hand”.

How small is the heaven compared to God.
In this article I hope my friends will comprehend one of the many divine touches which the 6236 verses of the Holy Quran silently but manifestly convey to the spiritually thirsty hearts.
