The Jews and Christians think that Issac was offered by Abraham as a sacrifice to God.

In this article it will be proved that Ishmael was offered as sacrifice.

Please see the following:-

1.   Ishmael was born when Abraham was 86 years old. Genesis16 verse 15 "Hagar bore Abraham a son, and he named him Ishmael. Abraham was 86 years old at the time."

2.   Abraham was 100 years old when Issac was born. (Genesis17 , verse17)

 Observation : Therefore Issac was neither the First Born nor The Only Son, but 14years younger than Ishmael.

Observation : Therefore, Ishmael THE FIRST BORN for 14years was the Only Son.

3.   Genesis17/23 "On the same day Abraham obeyed God and circumcised his SON Ishmael."

Observation : Ishmael is referred to as Abraham's son.

4.   Genesis17, verse 24 "Abraham was 99 years old when he was circumcised and HIS SON was 13."

Observation : Ishmael is again referred to as Abraham's son.

5.   Genesis21 verse 13 : "I will also give many children to the son of the slave girl, so that they become a nation. He(ISHMAEL) too is your son."

Observation : Even God refers to Ishmael as Son of Abraham.

6.   Genesis21 verse 11and 12 Sarah said:"Send this slave girl and her son away. The son of this slave girl should not get any part of your wealth." This troubled Abraham very much because Ishmael was also his son. But God said to Abraham "Don't be worried about the boy and your slave Hagar..... I will also give many children to the son of the slave girl.....He too is your son."

Observation : God himself says that Ishmael "too is your son" and the Bible also says that "This troubled Abraham because Ishmael was also his son"

IMPORTANT NOTE    For 14 years Ishmael remained the ONLY SON. So how can God say in Genesis 22 verse2 "Take your son," God said, "Your only son Issac.... offer him as a sacrifice to me." Then again in Genesis22 verse 16 "Because you did this and did not keep your only son from me."

Genesis 25 verse 7&8 "Abraham died at the ripe old age of 175. His son Issac and Ishmael buried him in Machpelah Cave.."

Observation : Even after the death of Abraham both ISHMAEL AND ISSAC are mentioned as his sons. So the first born Ishmael could be the ONLY SON for 14 years till Issac was born.

So the only son offered for sacrifice can only be Ishmael.
