20 million challenge to Catholic Encyclopedia

Mummy of the Drowned Pharaoh

In his book, “Egypt and the Bible”, P.Montet places the Exodus during Pharaoh Merneptah’s reign.

The Catholic Encylopedia ( http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/10208b.htm)

“Merneptah’s mummy (see observation No.1 below) was discovered in 1896 (1898) and identified in 1900. The find does not disprove the identity of that monarch with the pharaoh of the Exodus, for nothing in the sacred text requires the admission that pharaoh pursued the Israelites in person (see observation No.2 below), or was drowned as a result” (see observation No.3 below).

Observation No.1

Mummy Preserved & Mummy Discovered

If Merneptah is regarded as pharaoh of the Exodus, and his mummy has been discovered, then the Holy Quran is right in saying that the body of the drowned pharaoh has been preserved.

Observation No.2

20 million challenge

The encyclopedia is wrong because  Pharaoh Did Pursue the Israelites in Person (as per the sacred text).

I will pay 20 million Pak Rupees if the publishers or any Christian can prove  in any Christian Country’s court that as per the sacred text Pharaoh did not pursue the Israelites in person.

Proof: The Torah published by the Jewish Publication Society says:-

EXODUS 14/8

“The Lord stiffened the heart of Pharaoh, King of Egypt, and he gave chase to the Israelites.”

Proof: The Torah published by the Jewish Publication Society says:-

Exodus 14/10:- “As Pharaoh drew near, the Israelites caught sight of the Egyptians advancing upon them”.

Proof :The Good News Bible printed by the Christians:-

Exodus 14/10: “When the Israelites saw the king and his army marching against them, they were terrified”.

Observation No.3

Pharaoh was Drowned. The encyclopedia is wrong.

Proof : The Scofield Reference Bible, (Exodus 15/9):-

“For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the Lord brought again the waters of the sea upon them Proof : Scofield Reference Bill (Exodus 15/1):-

“Then sang Moses (himself)…..unto the Lord….The horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea”.

Proof : Psalms 136/15 Good News Bible:-

“He divided the Red Sea…… he led his people through it……but he drowned the King of Egypt and his army.”

Proof : Scofield Reference Bible Psalms 136/15:- “But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea”.

Conclusion No.1

The Catholic Encyclopedia under discussion is wrong in saying that “nothing in the sacred text requires the admission that Pharaoh pursued the Israelites in person, or was drowned.”

The Sacred Text quoted above clearly says that Pharaoh pursued the Israelites in person and he was drowned.

Conclusion No.2

The Holy Quran says in SURA 10 (Yunus) Verse 90 to 92:-

“When Pharaoh was about to be drowned, he cried …..I am of those who submit themselves to Him”. God replied “What? Now! Thou hast rebelled and caused depravity. This day we save thee in thy body so that thou mayest be a sign for those who will come after thee”.

a)                 The Bible says that Pharaoh was drowned.

b)                The Holy Quran says that Pharaoh was drowned, but his body was saved.

c)                 The Encyclopedia says that the mummy of Pharaoh Merneptah has been discovered and the find (mummy) does not disprove the identity of that monarch (Merneptah) with the Pharaoh of the Exodus.

d)                Final Point: So the body of the Pharaoh of the Exodus has been found.

e)                 Final Point: The Holy Quran declared 2000 years after Pharaoh was drowned that his body has been saved. 1300 years later the body has been found. So the Holy Quran is a sacred book.

f)                  Final Point:  Dear Jews and Christians, face the facts and become Muslims and recite the sacred book The Holy Quran in the darkness of the night and in the shining hours of the day.
